  • Remember to bring your survey questions & results to class on Monday, January 7th
  • Since we will be completing our last unit during the last 7 classes of the semester, we will be assessing your skills overall. I suggest a review of basic skills and vocabulary in the final days of your vacation!

Bonnes vacances, les amis!

  • Remember to bring your revised paragraph to orally present on Monday, January 7th
  • Remember to complete your travel research (with screen shots or a few printed photos & your notes in English). Your final conversations for French 11 are scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday (Jan 8 & 9)
  • Take some time in the final days of your vacation to review the tenses and language structures we have been focusing on this semester. There is a very quick turn-around when we return to school!

  • Prepare for learning check in tomorrow:  les parties du corps
  • You need to recognize and be able to write the words

French 11

  • If you missed class today,  we worked through a pronoun exercise on p 49 of your reference guide. Then, we reviewed the structures you may want to include in your travel conversations and work:  prepositions for cities, countries and continents; using ‘y’ to replace place names; lui/leur usage p 7, 8 & 9 of travel package
  • For homework tonight:  Un voyage en Suisse p 12 (lecture et questions)

  • Prepare for ‘re-do’ of family vocabulary (if needed)  |  Block 4 students, please email if you are coming during block 1 (8:30) on Monday to redo the learning check-in.
  • Both blocks:  Complete the reading and questions on housing on pages 27 & 28
  • Keep practising the vocabulary for les parties du corps:  learning check in on Wednesday

French 11

  • Review the structures for ‘conditional’ and ‘subjunctive’ (See your package). You will need to use these in your conversations next week 🙂
  • Continue your research on your travel destination. Your planned trip is for 5 days. You need to look at travel arrangements, lodging, ways to get around once you arrive, things to do & places to visit, food, cultural info, etc.
  • Remember to keep a list of activities or things you would, could or should have done if…..
  • Our last day for research will be Monday. Screen shots of attractions, landscape, etc will help to make our conversations more interesting!
  • Conversations are scheduled for Wed, Thurs, Fri as needed.

  • Review the rules around placement of adjectives (BANGS)
  • Write 5 sentences, using a different describing word in each sentence
  • Want to re-watch Jean Petit qui danse ?  Voilà  ….

French 11

  • In the stories we have read, Roch Carrier shared two experiences from his childhood and adolescence.
  • These experiences show us something about who Roch Carrier was at that time in his life, and the impact his experiences had on him.
  • Think about an experience you would be comfortable sharing with conversations partners in class (It can be an experience that changed you in some way, a person that had an impact in your life, or anything that tells us more about you as a person.)
  • Create a quick sketch (6 boxes)  & a vocab list (maximum 6 words) to aid you and your partners in your conversations tomorrow. Remember that you will mostly use the past tense in your conversations.

  • Prepare yourself for your interpersonal (speaking) assessments tomorrow! You will be asking & answering questions & retelling the Napoléon stories with partners for the whole period 🙂

  • Rewatch Le Chandail de Hockey (on YouTube or The National Film Board of Canada site)
  • Finish answering the questions & be ready to discuss in small groups
