  • Be ready to continue conversations tomorrow!
  • As discussed in class, you may want to
    • think of some more interesting questions to ask using specific travel vocabulary
    • think about ways to incorporate different tenses into your conversations
    • make a list of things you can tell your partner about your travel destination if there are not a lot of tourist attractions, museums, restaurants, etc.
      • Is it safe? Why or why not?
      • Are the laws different? How?
      • What are the customs & traditions?
      • How do people live?
      • What does the landscape and/or architecture look like?
      • Why is French the/or one of the official languages?
      • If it is place you would not normally choose to travel to, what are the reasons why others might travel there? What might others want to see or do?

  • Keep reviewing your travel vocabulary!
  • Continue planning your trip so that you are ready to share your plans & what you have learned about your country in partner conversations on Thursday and Friday. Remember to save screen shots or print photos as this will make your conversations much more interesting.
  • See yesterday’s post for a list of things to consider when planning
  • Write an itinerary/plan in English so that you don’t have to memorize your plans
  • You may have a short list of French vocabulary (for essential new words), but don’t make it too long! You will spend too much time looking for words rather than using strategies!

  • Read up to the end of Chapter 25 and be prepared to participate in the conversation tomorrow
  • Remember that your oral contributions count toward the evaluation of your interpersonal skills for this unit

  • You have an interpretive listening evaluation tomorrow. There will be sentences with travel vocabulary and past, present and conditional structures.
  • You might want to start researching & planning your trip. You will save screenshots on your phone or print photos to show partners during conversations. A map that shows the location of your travel destination would be very helpful. As discussed in class today, you should think about the following:
    • safety and laws
    • customs & traditions
    • history (as it pertains to language)
    • flights & travel within the country
    • accommodations
    • length of vacation & itinerary
    • architecture & landscape
    • tourist attractions and things to do
    • food & restaurants

  • It is a significant part of the story:  read carefully & be prepared to discuss in class tomorrow.
