  • Review the family vocabulary on p 6 of your unit
  • Read the 5 sample questions at the top of the page and the answers provided
    • Write your own answer to each of the questions
    • You will practice asking/answering questions with a partner tomorrow

 

French 10

Block 2: students:  Tomorrow is the last day to bring a food item or some spare change to donate to the food drive! Please donate if you can.

  • Partner conversations will continue tomorrow.
  • Review your unit vocabulary & structures and think about how you will describe and explain your choices/dreams
    • ‘structures’ = remembering the correct placement and agreement of describing words  such as  “J’adore les murs roses dans cette chambre.”
    • ‘structures’ also = shows knowledge & use of basic foundations of the language which allows others to understand/make sense of what you are saying
    • ‘connecting words’ = parce que, à cause de, en raison de, car     BUT also words like “donc, alors, malgré que, tandis que, ensuite, et puis, ainsi, aussi ….”
    • ‘unit vocabulary’ = words for rooms and items in our homes, words to describe, words to show where things are (position & placement in a space) & chunks of language/phrases learned throughout the unit

  • Learning check-in tomorrow:   using être & avoir in simple sentences  🙂
  • Re-read the ‘Ma famille’ text on p 4
    • Circle or highlight all the words that are new & impede your understanding of the message. Write them in a list so that we can create a quick word bank together in class tomorrow
  • Add your Pictionary-style drawing to the circle on p 5 to show the members of your family
  • Review the examples of ways to use ‘avoir’ and ‘être’ in sentences p 2
    • As optional extra practice, try writing a personal paragraph that includes one sentence of each example (7 sentences total)

Block 2 & 3 students:  Please bring a food item or some spare change to donate to the food drive tomorrow!

  • Prepare for your interpersonal assessment tomorrow by saving screen shots to your phone to talk about your ‘ideal house’ or ‘future dream home’ with partners

  • Spend some time reviewing your French basics from Unité 1 today
  • Do you still know all the weather phrases & seasons? Words to indicate time? Useful classroom expressions? Numbers?
  • Think about the areas that you outlined as needing improvement in your written work
    • Vocabulary? Patterns for actions words? Using le, la, les  vs.  un, une, des?

  • Make sure you have your paragraph describing your home in class tomorrow

  • Can you rewrite/add to your paragraph describing yourself?
    • Try adding some new words to describe and some of the words or structures you learned from the latest song
    • Don’t forget to change the endings on your describing words for ‘feminin’ 🙂
