FR 12 Bloc 5
For class today, students
- reviewed & discussed yesterday’s interpretive listening activities
- read & discussed Si J’etais Ministre de la Culture Text on p 9 of your unit.
In preparation for after the break
- Do some research on people who have had a significant influence on French life & culture (art, theatre, music, film, science, literature ….)
- Be prepared to teach classmates about them … make some notes, save some screenshots or video clips or print photos, etc. You do not have to spend time making a fancy document! This will be a speaking/listening task. You will not hand in anything.
- You will present (en français, bien sûr!) in small groups of 3-4 people
Consider engaging in some of the following:
- B1 level interpretive activities on a variety of topics that you can choose depending on personal interests https://apprendre.tv5monde.com/en/exercices/b1-threshold
- The Language Gym online – I have extended dates on recently added assignments that would be useful to you in making more complex sentences. You can also go to the Games Room, select your level (Intermediate, Higher or Advanced depending on your current level of comfort) & then choose the type of activity. Sentence trainer & Rockclimbing provide excellent practice with for communicating in sentences. Consider some of the vocab-building activities to improve your word choice/ learn vocabulary to discuss different topics (ex. environment)
- Start reviewing/learning the vocabulary & phrases to express opinions & engage in more debate p 10 – 15 *We will be looking at these in class during the first week back.
- Watch a French-language film or series! There are plenty on Netflix & some full-length films on YouTube. If you liked the look of L’école Buissonière, you might like the Belle et Sébastien movies. The film I showed in class that is available on YouTube is called Louis Cyr, but there are lots of other choices 🙂
- Read a book en français!
