***After the break, we will focus a bit more on speaking & listening work. These will be assessed at the end of the semester.

Stories help us to learn new vocabulary, develop sentence structure and fluency, and practise pronunciation so that we can communicate in French. Please don’t waste time trying to memorize stories! That’s not a real world skill and would be a waste of your time 🙂

Review your unit to prepare for mid-unit assessment on Thursday

  • re-read the texts in your package for fluency, new vocabulary and tense p 12-13, p 26, p 28-29
  • review the actions on the front of your unit booklet … can you use them in present, past and future?
    • ex.  Je me réveille (I wake up), Je me suis réveillé(e) (I woke up), Je me réveillais (I used to wake up), Je vais me réveiller (I’m going to wake up)
  • Are you comfortable talking about your regular routine, what you did yesterday, what you did when you were younger, what you’re going to do tomorrow or next week? Can you describe yourself today vs how you used to be?

  • Underline the negative structures (ex. ne … pas)
  • Write 5 questions to ask a partner about Natacha’s day

***There is extra practice with the past tense verb patterns in your online Language Gym:  daily routine (actions that need the extra pronoun like Je me lave) & regular er, ir and re actions. Repetition and practice will help the patterns to stick and to become more natural 🙂 They will close before December 5th.
