For those students who asked for ways to stay connected with French over the holidays, you can …
- Continue working through the Listening Unit Book: We have completed work on units 1 – 10. You can do a review of daily routine vocab & structures with Unit 16 Listening.
- Complete assignments on the Language Gym that I have selected for you
- Go to the Games room on the Language Gym & choose what you would like to do (choose Beginner level)
- Find some French music that you like or look for children’s cartoons in French on YouTube.
- Search for Alice Ayel on YouTube and watch her tell & draw simple stories for you. Choose from Saison 1 or 2 as they get harder through the seasons.
- Spend time reviewing your unit books & re-reading the short texts. Pay attention to words & topics that you haven’t looked at for a while.
IT’S A HOLIDAY! Rest, spend time with your family & do things that you love to do.

For those asking for ways to practise or stay connected to French through the holidays
- I have posted some assignments on the Language Gym that are related to our food topic
- You can also select your own activities for practise. Go to Games > select the type of activity from the tiles > choose your level > then choose your topics 🙂
- Review your unit books & re-read short texts
- Consider watching more Alice in Paris episodes to practise listening. Search for Alice in Paris Saison 1 on YouTube to find it in French. There is also a Saison 2.
- You can also search for Alice Ayel on YouTube. She is a French teacher who tells simple stories & draws pictures to help you understand.
- Make a plan to practise speaking French with a friend from class over the holidays
- Look for French- language films, tv shows or music that you like
REMEMBER: You are on holidays! Take time to sleep in, spend time with family & do things that you love…and come back to school rested & ready to learn on Jan 4th 🙂
